Hafez was opened in 1983 by food lovers Nusrat and Jessie Tadjiky, and they were joined two years later by Head Chef Farshid Ziafat. Today, Hafez remains a proudly family-owned and family-run restaurant, offering warm Persian hospitality and an enduring passion for authentic cuisine.

Farshid played an important part in shaping the early culinary direction of Hafez. Trained in his family’s celebrated Royal Tehran restaurant under Head Chef Nassar Sharif, he came from a long line of successful restaurateurs whose legacy includes the historic Nayeb restaurant in Tehran’s bazaar. His expertise contributed to the strong foundation on which Hafez continues to build today.
